Who We Are!

The Northwest Washington Indian Health Board provides public health services and advocates for improvements in Native health for Tribes in Northwest Washington.  We are a non-profit corporation with Tribal representatives on our Board of Directors from the Lummi, Nooksack, Samish, Swinomish, Tulalip and Upper Skagit Tribes.


We are federally funded through grants and contracts to provide the following services:

Supports Tribal communities with diabetes prevention

Supports Tribal communities with environmental health/prevention, occupational health/safety, injury prevention and emergency preparedness 

Supports Tribal communities with developing culturally responsive and community-driven prevention strategies to service youth ages 10 through 24

Indigenous Life Givers Project

Supports families with childbirth education, birth doula, postpartum support, group peer support and newborn kit

Liaison

Supports Tribal communities by creating a link between PeaceHealth St. Josephs Medical Center and Native support services
